Comissioned by the series “Videoart at Midnight” at “Babylon Kino” in Berlin, I played bass clarinet and live electronics for a showing of Simon Faithfull‘s video “30km“. 30Km presents a constant upwards journey from a close-up of a face to the edge of space. The figure becomes a red dot in a green field, the field becomes a shape in a patchwork pattern of southern England, and finally the camera glimpses the curve of the Earth and the blackness of space…
